Frequently Asked Questions
HOW OLD DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO BE TO START?
We have class offerings from ages 2 to adult!
We ask that if your child is not fully potty trained they wear a
pull up.
WHAT SHOULD MY DANCER WEAR TO CLASS?
Comfortable dancer/active wear that they can move around
in. At registration we will provide you with specific dance wear
and or footwear.
WILL MY DANCER PERFORM IN A RECITAL
Yes! All of our classes perform at our Annual Recital in June
at The Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence, RI! The
Dance Factory is known for producing one of the most unique
dance recitals in the New England Area. They are always
interestingly themed and extremely entertaining.
Professionals at The VETS say our residency in the theater
brings a “breath of fresh air” and runs smoothly, orderly and is
FUN! What an amazing way to celebrate your students hard
work over the school year!
CAN I STAY AND WATCH CLASSES?
YES. The Dance Factory has windows so students can see
parents and vise versa. We often start with the curtains shut
so the teacher can gain focus in the class but we often pull
curtains up so parents can observe. We also have sneak
peek weeks where you’re invited into class! All students must
be able to enter the classroom alone though, we are
professionals at helping tiny dancers build confidence and
independence. We’ve got 19 years of experience and our staff
is educated and specializes in Preschool and Kindergarten
Classes. We can guide your child and help them overcome
separation anxiety, be confident and make friends!
IS IT A YEAR-LONG COMMITTMENT?
Our School Year Program runs September thru June and we
also have short Summer Programs as well. We hope that our
dancers stay, continue to learn with us and be part of our
dance family for years to come. However if you ever need to
withdraw, just give us notice before the month begins and we
will cancel the registration.
IF YOU’RE A RECREATIONAL DANCE SCHOOL, CAN MY CHILD PROGRESS AND BE CHALLENGED?
YES! We offer an Advanced Placement Program for students
who wish to study dance more seriously. We have additional
opportunities to learn such as Additional Technique Classes,
Placement Exams, Workshops and Guest Teachers. Our
Advanced Placement Students study Dance Appreciation,
Dance History and Practical Application. We even have In
Studio Mock Auditions and Competitions to prepare our
students for dance life outside of the studio and beyond! We
also provide additional performance opportunities, the chance
to attend dance conventions and competitions. We even have
a Teacher Assistant Training Program and a College

students to have fun! We really do have something for
everyone. Let us find the right class and path for your dancer!
